Running Hangry Kitchen, teaching full-time, and setting up at farmers markets means I don’t have time for a complicated skincare routine.
I need products that work, layer well under sunscreen, and don’t irritate my skin.
Here’s exactly what I use and how I use it.
No 12-step routine. No hype.
🌤 Morning Routine (Simple + Consistent)
1. Gentle Cleanser
CeraVe Hydrating Facial Cleanser
This removes overnight oil without stripping my skin or making it tight.

2. Serum
The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%
I use this in the morning to help balance oil and improve the appearance of pores. It feels lightweight and absorbs quickly.

3. Moisturizer
The Ordinary Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA
Basic, no-frills hydration that works well under makeup and sunscreen.

4. Sunscreen (Most Important Step)
EltaMD UV Daily SPF 40
It layers well, doesn’t pill, and feels lightweight for daily wear.

🌙 Evening Routine
At night, I rotate between hydration nights and treatment nights.
Regular Hydration Nights
-
Cleanser
-
The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 (applied on damp skin)
-
Moisturizer
The hyaluronic acid helps with hydration and smoothness without feeling heavy.

Treatment Nights (2–3x Per Week)
On nights when I want to focus more on blemishes and texture, I use:
Thayers Blemish Clearing Toner with Salicylic Acid
This helps gently exfoliate and improve the look of pores. I don’t use it daily, just a few times a week.

Then I follow with moisturizer.
Why I Keep It Simple
I don’t rotate a dozen products. I don’t stack every serum at once. Consistency matters more than complexity.
Morning:
Cleanser
Niacinamide
Moisturizer
SPF
Night:
Cleanser
Hydrate or Treat
Moisturizer
That’s it.
Final Note
This routine works for me because it’s realistic. If you’re running a business, teaching, parenting, or juggling a lot, simple is sustainable.
